BEGUM is a dreamy, lo-fi experimental band from New Delhi, specialising, in their own words, in “11th century seduction sounds”. Composed of Kartik Pillai, Dhruv Bhola and Karan Singh – all three of whom also double up as members of Peter Cat Recording Co. – their music is an experimental, psychedelic take on post-rock and dreampop (though it languidly meanders and evades the concept of genres altogether). Often described as nostalgic, charming and psychedelic, BEGUM's noisy yet saccharine melodies have a tendency to induce their listeners into swirly, lo-fi hazes.
