Gauley bhai

Formed in 2017, Gauley Bhai is a Bengaluru-based band, comprising vocalist, violinist and filmmaker Veecheet Dhakal, his brother Anudwatt on bass (together they also run a production house Firiri Films), drummer and composer Joe Panicker (one half of electronic music duo Aerate Sound), and guitarist Siddhant Mani Chettri, who is also part of soul rock band Mojo Hand.

With members from Kalimpong and Calicut, it's this intersection of geographies, musical roots and their varied experiences that forms the essence of Gauley Bhai's music, translating into Nepali vocal harmonies, tribal folk rhythms, and hypnotic rock riffs. Their songs lie in the spaces they inhabit - individual, social and political; an attempt to reflect on the spaces they share, beyond borders of geography and language.
