Stalvart John

Stalvart John found his home in electronic music about a decade ago when he discovered artists like Fatboy Slim, Prodigy, and Robert Miles. After taking the plunge into dance music, he found appreciation from audiences across the globe in no time thanks to his radio shows on Boxout FM (India), Frisky Radio (NY), Afterhours FM (SFO), IMRTD Worldwide (NY) and Powermix fm Radio (UK), among others.

Known for his deeper take on dance music and his unconventional attitude, Stalvart contributed to the initial uprising of Kerala’s electronic music scene with a series of gigs. However, it was after shifting base to Bangalore that he found a comfort zone in disco and house.

Over the years, however, Stalvart has become synonymous with his monthly radio show and club night, Dynamite Disco Club, which takes a closer look at the roots of soul, funk, disco and house, offering audiences a chance to go back to the basics of Chicago house, Detroit funk and Philly soul scene while keeping it fresh.

Today, he's almost a regular feature at some of the country’s premiere music festivals, and has opened for acts like Moodymann, Detroit Swindle, Horse Meat Disco, Bill Brewster, Jayda G and Zero 7. The leap from DJ to producer was also a natural step in the trajectory of his career, and Stalvart has since released music on labels such as Wind Horse Records, Mind Field Records, Hot Elephant music and Springbok Records.
