A journey deep into the desert’s living sonic heritage.
Puqaar Music Diaries, a music documentary by Abhimanyu Alsisar, patron of folk music and fine arts in Rajasthan, is a journey deep into the desert’s living sonic heritage.
Travelling across the region, the film seeks out rare folk artists from storied and historic lineages, each carrying forward ancestral traditions through their voices and instruments.
Created with the aim of documenting and preserving Rajasthan’s rich cultural legacy, the documentary offers an intimate window into the people and practices that keep these art forms alive. Following the acclaimed first instalment released a few years ago, Part Two now turns its lens toward some of Rajasthan’s most unique and endangered instruments; weaving together artist interviews, personal histories, and the profound spiritual bonds between musician and craft.
Beautifully shot and stylistically presented, Puqaar Music Diaries is both an archive and a celebration, making these extraordinary artists and their timeless music accessible to new audiences while safeguarding them for generations to come.
